Izarra is a century-old brand that is a symbol of the entire Basque Country, full of character.
Created in Hendaye in 1906 by Joseph Grattau, a pharmacist and botanist, then produced in Bayonne from 1912 to 1998, Izarra was one of Basque culture’s great ambassadors to France and the world, with Izarra Vert, Izarra Jaune and lines of plant and fruit liqueurs. The Basque star shines in over 70 countries, from Chile to Japan, not to mention the United States and Europe. The distillery overlooks the Adour River and has welcomed all Basque families and nearly a million visitors over the past century, making it THE Basque house!
Revived in 2011 after thirteen years of dormancy, Izarra is once again promoting a certain vision of the Basque Country, full of vitality and elegance. Timeless and closely in touch with its times, the liqueur has gone into mixology and cocktails, fooding and an epicurean digestif with Izarra 54.
